For over a decade, Roundhouse Foundation has partnered with Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) to share the histories, cultures and stories of rural communities throughout the state. Talented journalists and storytellers that listen to and amplify the voices of our rural communities are critical players contributing to thriving rural communities and economies.
This year, Roundhouse Foundation is proud to join family members from the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation and Tim and Mary Boyle to support Oregon Public Broadcasting’s Impact Journalism with a collaborative gift in honor of Gert Boyle, family matriarch and Oregon businesswoman who broke through the glass ceiling of the sportswear industry in the 1970s as the president of Columbia Sportswear Company.
“Mom had a set of rules she lived by. Gert’s Rule No. 7: Send thank-you notes. If someone gives you a gift or brightens your day, then a thank-you note is in order,” said Kathy Deggendorfer, Boyle’s daughter and Founder and Trustee of the Roundhouse Foundation. “I think of this gift as her thank-you note to Oregonians and to OPB.”
