2026 Spring Open Call yields 125 grants to help Rural Oregonians
Sisters, Oregon – The Roundhouse Foundation announces final selections for the 2026 Spring Open Call grants cycle which closed in March. More than $1.6 million will be awarded to 125 organizations working across Oregon to support rural and Tribal communities.
Grant partners receiving the awards are nonprofits or community governments working on varied projects which fall into these core focus areas: arts and culture, education, social services, and environmental stewardship. Examples of the efforts supported by this grant cycle include local public media, rural schools and youth, and projects to reduce wildfire risks.
“There are changing needs throughout the rural landscape this year,” says Erin Borla, Executive Director and Trustee of The Roundhouse Foundation. “We continue to see the remarkable and important work that support organizations are doing and we are grateful to be able to work alongside so many great partners.”

Sample the Spring 2026 supported programs:
Arts & Culture
Radio Tierra – Columbia Gorge – to strengthen and expand its cultural, health, safety, and education programming in response to the region’s increased needs of Latino, Spanish-speaking, and immigrant communities.
Frontier Art Center – Southeast Oregon – to maintain monthly adult art workshops, high school art nights, and middle school art nights, and organize summer art camp programs for all youth.
Brownsville Times – Willamette Valley – to ensure The Brownsville Times can continue publishing through 2026-27 while growing subscriptions and advertising.
Education
Butte Falls Community School Partnership – Southern Oregon – to provide opportunities for education, enrichment and community-building to all ages in their small, rural town.
Coos Bay School District – South Coast – to serve approximately 380 unhoused students and at-risk children and families; maintain operations at the ARK drop-in center; and to purchase and distribute basic-need supplies including food, hygiene items, clothing, and school materials.
YOUTH 360 – Northeast Oregon – to empower rural youth, farthest from resources, annually through services at The 906 Youth Resource Center, including Education Success, Job and Work Readiness, Housing Support, as well as general positive social connections during center open hours.
Environmental Stewardship
Clatskanie Farmer Collective – Northwest Oregon – to activate the Clatskanie Food Hub’s community kitchen which supports farmers and residents across rural communities of the Lower Columbia region. To process surplus farm products into value-added foods and prepared weekend meals, expand egg processing for small farms, host 12 cooking classes, and organize monthly community dinners.
Friends of Otter Rock Marine Reserve – North Coast – to support conservation and community engagement activities run by volunteers and student interns and provide interpretive engagement with visitors.
Northwest Youth Corps – Northeast Oregon – to support a program that helps young adults and their crewleader in Eastern Oregon gain real-world skills and wildfire-mitigation experience, while improving the health of their local environment.
Social Services
Community Works – Southern Oregon – to support victims of violence by removing housing barriers and navigating the housing market to obtain housing. Staff meet regularly with clients and provide ongoing life skills and well-being support.
Fences for Fido – Central Oregon – to provide barrier-free veterinary care on the Warm Springs Reservation, covering core vaccines, parasite prevention, and veterinary supplies so families can access the essential care needed for their family pets.
Klamath Basin Senior Citizens’ Center, Inc. – Southcentral Oregon – to expand nutrition and social engagement services for older adults in the Klamath Basin by providing congregate meals, Meals on Wheels deliveries, and wellness programming for more than 1,000 seniors annually.
