When 2020 brought challenges, the organizers of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show (SOQS) knew they wanted to create a way for the quilting community to stay connected.
No easy feat for an event that attracts thousands of quilters, artists, and visitors from across the country and is recognized as the world’s largest outdoor quilt show.
“We believe that quilting – and our quilt show – offers connection. That is why the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is free to attend; it always has been and always will be. Pivoting to a virtual quilt show has allowed us to deepen and broaden our connections,” said Dawn Boyd, Director of the Show.
As the SOQS event organizers look to the future, they plan to incorporate a virtual component in addition to the in-person show, expanding the reach of the Sisters community’s quilting connections.
