On Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 3pm at Fika Coffee Shop in Sisters, artists in residence, Diane Jacobs and Bean Gilsdorf engaged with community members about their craft. Approximately 25 community members attended the event.

Bean Gilsdorf is a writer and visual artist based in Portland, Oregon. She talked about her current essay regarding a falconry seminar she completed last year, and the discipline’s connection to vision, ecology, behavior, and historic preservation. Diane Jacobs, a visual artist also from Portland, Oregon presented information about developing a sculptural artist book project that celebrates Mt. Hood Wilderness by placing the mountain as a focal element to tell a story of the region.
